[GenCon 2007] Sharing experience: furnishings
I'll be GenCon booth historian for the moment and provide a brief summary of booth furnishings. If I recall correctly, each 10' x 10' booth comes with one long skirted table and two rather uncomfortable chairs. All other furnishings, including unpadded carpeting, are extra and the rental of such can be arranged through the the Indy convention center as detailed in GenCon exhibitor documentation. I do not have details, but my understanding is the rental fees are high.
Two years ago, that's GenCon 2005, Paul Czege came up with the grand idea of purchasing sturdier folding chairs to defray some of the Forge Booth furniture costs, see [URL=http://www.indie-rpgs.com/forum/index.php?topic=15755.0] [GenCon 2005] sponsor a Forge Booth chair! I believe these chairs are now housed by Ralph, aka Valamir, see [GenCon] Chairs. I do not know who gets a claim on the chairs for 2007.
One year ago, Greg Porter, aka btrc, purchased the padded floor tiles that were used at GenCon 2006, see GenCon booth accessories? I believe Greg still has the tiles. Greg also provided the battery that was used to power the cash register.

I think the sponsored chairs have to stay with the mothership. It's gonna need them. That means that each booth will require a couple more chairs. No biggie. The convention hall ones are terrible; they're kind of squishy and they make you short and collapsy when you sit down.

The battery wasn't used to power the register in the '06 booth, which ran from the mains, which was paid for (along with the phone line).

Alexander, do you have any details on that? Maybe start a new thread, since that question will likely come up independently of the furnishings question.

Hi Joshua,
I'd like to ask whether you've been through the GenCon exhibitor application in detail. It would be a lot easier to tell you about how the Forge booth has worked, and experience with the various options, if I knew you'd done that.
Without knowing it, I can't tell you if you need details about the GenCon rules, or about what we did, or what.
Best, Ron
