Hi everyone

Iam new here and I dont know much. I am intrigued with the concept of RPG's and I will like to create one for myself.

I have a concept and story that Iam working on but I dont know how to structure a it.It is going to be a  text based game with an objective

but how do give points or take away points in a text based RPG

Is there any place online for people who need help in creating their own game

Well, I guess the first question is: How many table-top RPGs have you played?

If the answer to that is "None", then the answer to your original question is, "First, go buy and play some RPGs. Then come back and we can talk." Otherwise, what you are asking is rather like trying to design a car because you saw one on the road once (but have otherwise had no experience with or even heard of them).

Are you thinking about something along the lines of interactive fiction-style adventure games?

We don't tend to focus on Computer-RPGs here, except insofar as they relate to tabletop games. You might be better off looking for resources around the Interactive Fiction Competition website or Brass Lantern. Brass Lantern, especially, seems to have lots of tutorials and relevant information in their 'beginners' section.

To my cruel ear, it sounds as though he's asking how to program an RPG, but doesn't know how to program.

If, by "text based RPG," you mean a MUSH, I can help. Email me or send me a Private Messaging using the links by my name.
