Ron:

At the trade show, we talked about a great many things... and one of them was the initiation of a retailer forum here at the Forge where the subject of selling indie RPGs might be discussed. Any new thoughts on it?

(By the way, the owner thinks the idea of a 'small press shelf' in the gaming section is a good one, and plans to implement it after the renovation. I'll keep you apprised -- ideally in the new Forum.)

Hi Jason!

Nice to see you here. Folks, Jason is a retailer person. Do not throw rocks. I'm trying to build bridges.

I haven't given much thought to the possible Retailer Forum for a bit, although it's still something I want to try. I think the best route is to generate industry-organizational discussions, most likely in Publishing (for the practical side) or RPG Theory (for the stuff-in-games side). If some of them take off, and most especially if some more retailer-folks get involved, then a forum could be possible.

Frankly, if this does happen and turns out to be a positive thing, the Forge will have made industry history - linking the Three-Tier to the concept of creator ownership.

Best,
Ron

Worse yet -- a retailer-person who used to be an industry reporter. I think I'd have to own a printing company to be a more likely target.

That's fair. I'll cruise those for now.

Hey,

Here's the GAMA Debriefing thread I started after I returned from the show.

Best,
