This may be a little early, but are there any plans underway for a Chicago-area Forge gathering this year?

Hi there,

I was just talking about this yesterday and hoping to organize the organizers, so to speak, this very evening. Most of that should probably be private at the moment. Last year it pretty much all fell onto Matt Snyder, and whether that's the same this year or not should probably be figured out off-line.

But yeah - I think it was a fantastic event last year and should be maintained as an annual thing. Adept Press is doing pretty well, financially, so I think I'd like to invest a fair amount into making it better - maybe picking up a portion of the tab in order to get a venue closer to Chicago, for instance.

Since plane fares and hotel rooms are best reserved earlier, I'll get onto this right away. Expect news during the week.

Best, Ron

There are plans. We are talking about it off line.

That said, I'm up to my neck in it these past couple weeks, hence much silence from me. Just got a new managerial job and sold my house, and am trying to buy a new one. This all happened in the span of about 10 days, plus many family events in between.

That's the long way of saying HOLY CRAP AM I BUSY!

I would *SO* find a way to go to this. As long as it's before I go to Iraq. Again. Timeframe, anybody?

Hi guys. Missed you.

Has a date and location been settled on yet?  I may need to schedule vacation from work for this, and the earlier the better.

I know I'm pushing for April 5-7 or something in that vein. I could make the full trip if that were the case.

Since I know the world revolves around my needs, heh...

Jake, how's Friday, April 13 through Sunday, April 15?

The alternate is the following weekend, Friday, April 20 through Sunday, April 22.

Those are the dates, folks. I'll consider some concerns, but understand it's basically impossible to meet everyone's schedules.

Jake, the week you mention is Easter weekend, so I'm inclined to avoid that. MAN I hope you can come. It'd be good to see you.

For what it's worth, there's no way that I could come for April 14.  April 21 is much more doable for me.

Nope. I can take leave from March 31 to April 8. Any other day can't happen without a serious change in GW's political policy.

Thanks for trying, though.
