Hello,

It's easy. All you gotta do is provide your favorite lines (three maximum) from the movie, The Five Deadly Venoms.

Please preserve the dubbing and exact diction.

Best,
Ron

My favorite: "muffa wuffa wumpa wuff" which is all I can understand from the Scorpion when he has his mask on. Reminds me of the Secret Sacred Wars Roach from Church & State.

sorry about you not getting any responses, Ron. I loved that movie. but it's been so long since I've seen it, I can't remember any specific dialogue, just the basic story flow.

I might be able to quote "Hawk, the Slayer", though. although that doen't help much for your current project...

Just a courtesy post Ron. I did read your request but I can't help you.

I have never seen 5 Deadly Venoms-- sorry

Never one to follow the rules in anything, I have four:

"You should thank me. You know why? When I'm done with you, they won't behead you."

"Dammit. That torture hurt. And all for nothing!"

"Poison clan rocks the world!"

"I joined the clan because I wanted to learn a special kung fu - to be a real expert. But in actual fact, I've just become a killer. Killing. That's all I know. Death. Everyday, another."

We used these four, and a couple more, in a noise loop tape for in between songs and technical difficulties when I was in ole' grind/ noise / hardcore band... Me heart 5DV.

Thanks, Sean!

I knew you'd come through, buddy!

Now I just have to decide which one to use ...

Ron

I'd go with the first or last... What's this for anyways?

Hi Sean,

It's for one of those little text/quote boxes in Sorcerer books. This is for the section which introduces some nifty martial arts rules.

It's also an example of exploiting my target audience!

Ron

I'd say go for "muffa wuffa wumpa wuff". It's evocative of the movie.

-Andy, who's seen the movie like 10 times (9 of those before he was 10 years old) but can't remember any of the lines.

Saw it again recently. It's actually quite good for a kung-fu movie. It even has two major twists (I mean, sure you can see them coming a mile away, but still).

BTW, Anyone know the name of another movie that made plenty of rounds back in the days of Kung Fu theatre. I can't remember the title or plot, but it revolved around the training of a shaolin monk. The pivotal scene that I recall from the flick is from his training- it was to train his eyecontact- they put two large smouldering coals about 2 cm away from his temples. Then they had this lantern on a metronome, and it would swing back and fourth, and he had to follow it with his eyes without moving his head. As the lantern was sped up, he'd flinch and burn his head.

Someone's gotta know this movie. What is it?

EDIT: It was indeed Shaolin Master Killer.  Classic Shaw Brothers. Thanks, Sean!

BTW, would this be a good time to chime in and say that, like everyone else here who grooves on Sorcerer, I'd love to hear a little spoiler or two about the martial arts system :)

Oh, and while I'm on a roll, I'm actually hunting for this movie (and thought I'd toss it here in case anyone had heard of it):
2 Kids, seperated (IIRC, or maybe twins?) and sent to different martial arts schools, where they will train all their life and then duel when they are 18 to prove which is the better school.
Defining moment: One of the boys steals away and finds this crazy blind woman who knows this strike where she can drive her fingers into skulls and stones. The techniques were written on a scroll, which was made from the flesh of her dead husband.
Weeird. Long. But very cool. I want to find it again.

Sorry, not to hijack. Just thought that it was a good opportunity, since this thread will draw Kung Fu Theatre junkies :)

Andy,

I think the first you're looking for is Shaolin Master Killer a/k/a Master Killer starring Gordon Liu.

Don't know the 2nd.
