TROS game in London?

A big hello to all of you. I'm new to this forum and
The Riddle of Steel
game and am looking for a game. I live in North London in the UK, so if anyone knows of a way to line up a game, I'd appreciate it. I am originally from Australia, so have no established gaming network in the UK. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.
As far as I know, there are a few Londoners around here, so I have my fingers crossed for ya. Another good move is of course to check out gaming stores (of which there are MANY in London). Some of them have a pegboard where people can advertise that they're looking for players or groups etc. See if there's a group looking for someone, or better yet - advertise that you want to start up a ROS game and see if anyone bites. It's far better to roleplay with established friends, but when that's not an option, roleplaying with strangers can often make them into friends.
Brian.

Thanks for the tips Brian. I did ask in a local gaming store, but they didn't know. Putting up a notice might be a better way.

Another place youcould try (though more central London than Leisure Games north London) would be the Orcs Nest,
www.orcsnest.com
Unfortunately I'm hideously busy but I would be interested in playing a tRoS game if one's starting in London, my current group are more interested in the riddle of D20 or White Wolf.

Pytorb: I am happy to run a TROS game if I can get some players. I'll let you know if I get anything going.

There are a number of clubs that meet in London.
I'm going to one that meets in the
Green Man
pub opposite Great Portland Street tube on a Monday night, from about 18:30 hrs.
At the moment I'm playing in a
Feng Shui
game but I'd love to start playing TROS (I actually prefer to GM but I'm happy to play).
I'm kind of promised to a
Harn
game after the
Feng Shui
one ends but I know that TROS is being used as the rule set for
Harn
by some people and I don't see why pressure couldn't be brought to bear ;o)
I would happily play another night as well if a suitable time and venue could be arranged.
Cheers

Any more news on forming a group?
I've spoken to the Harn GM who has expressed an interest in using TRoS to run the game so we might have a goer if everyone can get organised.

Hi there
I am the
Harn
GM Charles was referring to.
I'm really keen to play a game in
Harn
, which I would like to GM. Charles has mentioned that he would like to GM also, so we probably need to thumb wrestle or something to decide that!
If me, I enjoy a very low-fantasy style of game. I enjoy it (and also hopefully the players do also!) when the characters start with comparitivly little, and then make their way in the world through guile, cunning and violence.
I have not played
TRoS
previously, so it would be nice to have some sessions prior to the game kicking off to go over character generation and combat etc. Needless to say, I shall purchase a copy of the rules forthwith.
As Charles also mentioned, I play in the Green Man pub, just outside the Great Portland Street tube exit on Mondays. That would be the best time for me to game.
Cheers,

As Charles mentioned, we are both playing in a
Feng Shui
game.
This game is very fun, and I would like to give the GM maybe four weeks notice of stopping, so he can write me out with a suitably heroic end.
I tried to buy
TRoS
today, but Orcs Nest had sold out, but they will be getting a new shipment on Thursday, so that is the earliest I will have the rules.
The
Feng Shui
doesn't normally start until 1900 or later, so if people wanted to meet at the
Green Man
at say, 1800 then that would be fine with me.
It would be nice to meet up a couple of weeks before the game proper starts. I especially would like some character generation and combat practice before it all kicks off officially.

I'm keen too, but not about for the next week and a half. I'll check this thread again when I'm back in front of my PC.
Hope to see you all soon.

I have now purchased a copy of the
The Riddle of Steel
rules.
I propose that we meet at the Green Man pub (just outside the Great Portland Street tube station) on Monday 29 September for a preliminary get together/in-person discussion.
As I mentioned previously, the
Feng Shui
game starts between 1900 and 1930 so we could meet at 1800 for an hour or so to discuss things.
Looking forward to meeting you. Except Charles, of course! I've already met him, and he's very nice!
